THE DATE
The Symposium “Future Challenges in Water Resources Research” focuses on the impact of water management projects. The keynote lectures will deal with morphological changes and their ecological effects. Secondary effects such as the formation of blue-green algae blooms and greenhouse gases in reservoirs will also be discussed. Large water projects are always a societal topic we want to talk about.
Our topic is strongly interdisciplinary and well balanced between engineering disciplines, natural and social sciences. However, women in such disciplines are strongly underrepresented. It is obvious that the number of women decreases the higher they climb the academic ladder (from students to doctoral candidates and to research group leaders).
For this reason, we organise this event that focuses on women’s competences. The research work of internationally renowned female scientists will be presented during the symposium.
This top-class event is of course open to everyone: female, male or diverse.
